Registering for Spring 2007

Hi:

As Spring 2007 advance registration has begun, I ask you to remember the 
following rules. Failure to do so will be detrimental to your wallet.

Credits:

G1, G3 = 12 - 18 credits

G2, G4 = 9 credits (Students NOT advanced to candidacy and who are signing 
up for research credits should register for either:
PHY 580 - Special Research Projects (experimental science)
PHY 585 - Special Study (theoretical science)

Only MA or MS majors should register for PHY 595 - Master's Thesis Rese

G5 = 9 credits (All eligible students must register for one of the 
following*:
PHY 699 - Dissertation Research on Campus, BNL or Cold Spring Harbor
PHY 700 - Dissertation Research Off Campus - Domestic - i.e., Fermilab, 
Ohio, etc.) 
PHY 701 - Dissertation Research Off Campus - International - i.e., Japan, 
Switzerland, etc. 

*If you know for sure that you will be advanced to candidacy before the 
beginning of the Spring 07 semester, then you can safely register as G5. 
The Graduate School deadline is around Day 10 of the new semester.
