Subject: Registering for Spring 2007 Hi: As Spring 2007 advance registration has begun, I ask you to remember the following rules. Failure to do so will be detrimental to your wallet. Credits: G1, G3 = 12 - 18 credits G2, G4 = 9 credits (Students NOT advanced to candidacy and who are signing up for research credits should register for either: PHY 580 - Special Research Projects (experimental science) PHY 585 - Special Study (theoretical science) Only MA or MS majors should register for PHY 595 - Master's Thesis Rese arch G5 = 9 credits (All eligible students must register for one of the following*: PHY 699 - Dissertation Research on Campus, BNL or Cold Spring Harbor PHY 700 - Dissertation Research Off Campus - Domestic - i.e., Fermilab, Ohio, etc.) PHY 701 - Dissertation Research Off Campus - International - i.e., Japan, Switzerland, etc. *If you know for sure that you will be advanced to candidacy before the beginning of the Spring 07 semester, then you can safely register as G5.
