Libby Petrick 01/09/2008 12:17 PM Subject: Summer 2008 Research Opportunity Announcement ** Reminder ** The Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG) of the National Solar Observatory (NSO) announces a National Science Foundation (NSF) summer research program for study in India. The program will begin on June 11, 2008 for eight weeks and is open to US graduate students enrolled in any discipline of astronomy or astrophysics. Please visit the website http://eo.nso.edu/ires/ for information about eligibility and applying to the program. The application deadline is January 18, 2008. Our application deadline is approaching, so a reminder e-mail might spark some additional interest in the program. Attached is a PDF flyer about the program. We ask that you please post this on your department bulletin boards and circulate it among your graduate school enrollment in the event that there are students who are interested in studying astronomy/astrophysics in India this summer. Please feel free to forward it to any colleagues who may have interested students. Your assistance in getting this information out to the scientific community is appreciated. -- Libby Petrick, Administrative Assistant National Solar Observatory/GONG Program Street Address: 950 N.
