Subject: last call for Ph.D. defense exams in May From: Laszlo Mihaly Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2007 11:11:44 -0400 To: "pagra-l@lists.sunysb.edu" CC:"pmkoch@notes.cc.sunysb.edu" As I have indicated in several messages, the Graduate School started to enforce strict deadlines for the submission of the Ph.D. Committee members and the doctoral defense announcement. The actual deadlines were adjusted a couple of times recently and settled to these: The Committee must be approved by the Grad School, and the doctoral defense announcement must be received by them at least FOUR WEEKS before the defense. (Note: you may still see various other deadlines ranging from 3 to 6 weeks on older WEB pages - disregard them.) Pat and me try to be as fast as possible in handling these matters. You must contact us at least five weeks before the planned exam time, and you must leave at least a day or two for processing the paperwork once the committee and the announcement is approved by me. Do not leave this matter to the last minute. With these deadlines, anyone planning to graduate in Spring 2007 should submit these documents within the next few days. If you run out of time you have to register for the summer and apply for August graduation.
